Check your yard once a week. Empty standing water, use repellent and repair window and door screens.
Remove standing water
Empty buckets, plant saucers, tires and other items that hold water. Clear clogged gutters and cover boats and pools.
Protect yourself and your home
Wear long sleeves at dusk, use an EPA-registered repellent and repair screens on windows and doors.
Free larvicide for standing water
Pick up free mosquito dunks at the district office for ponds, rain barrels and other water you cannot drain.
Report standing water
Report an abandoned pool or flooded lot. A district inspector can check the site.

The district tests six chicken flocks each week for West Nile, EEE and St. Louis encephalitis. It reports confirmed results to the Florida Department of Health.
